Cette année, dans le cadre du pôle édition, Daphné Mookherjee et Mélodie Zagury — éditrices et fondatrices du magazine aleï journal — ont invité jeunes éditeurs, philosophes, et passionnés d’éditions rares à présenter leurs collections personnelles et leurs réflexions sur l'univers de l'édition indépendante.

Localisée dans la salle du petit déjeuner du Château, elles ont collaboré avec les architectes Myriam K.Treiber, Emmanuelle Augustoni, Sergio Antonio Torres Escobar et Marija Urbaite pour créer une scénographie surréaliste sur le thème de la forêt. Les visiteurs étaient, pour les présentations, invités à s'asseoir sur des troncs d'arbre disposés dans un parterre de mousse fraîche et éclairés par des néons.

Deux fois par jour, lors d’un petit-déjeuner puis d’un goûter sucré orchestrés par la chef Julia Zagury à base de produits locaux, les participants ont eu la possibilité d’échanger autour de l’avenir de l’objet d’édition, du choix de la publication indépendante, ainsi que d’assister à des lectures performatives des auteurs et artistes présents au festival.

This year, the publishing department of Feÿ, Daphné Mookherjee and Mélodie Zagury — founders and editors of aleï journal magazine — invited publishers, philosophers, and lovers of rare publications to present their personal collections and their thoughts on the independent publication’s field.

   Located in the Château’s breakfast room, they collaborated with architects Myriam K.Treiber, Emmanuelle Augustoni, Sergio Antonio Torres Escobar and Marija Urbaite to create a surreal scenography with a forest theme. Visitors were invited during the presentations to sit  on tree trunks on a carpet of fresh moss lit by neon lights.

Twice a day, for a sweet breakfast and tasting orchestrated by the chef Julia Zagury and based on local products, visitors had the opportunity  to discuss the future of the object of edition and the choice of independent publication. Visitors were also able to attend readings by the authors and artists present at the festival.

Federico Nicolao — auteur, professeur et philosophe qui, au croisement de plusieurs langues et disciplines, a refait du livre un procédé dialectique et collectif de pensée — a présenté une partie de ses publications, et est revenu sur ses multiples collaborations artistiques et littéraires.

Federico Nicolao – author, professor, and philosopher at the crossroads of several languages and disciplines, has made the book a dialectical and collective thought process. Nicolao presented a part of his publications and reviewed his many artistic and literary collaborations.

First laid, maison d’édition indépendante de monographies d’artistes proposant ses publications comme “espace de création” autre qu’une galerie, a introduit ses quatre projets éditoriaux. Les fondateurs Zoé Sylvestre, Thomas Collinet et Jesse Wallace avaient créé pour l’occasion un kiosque d’exposition, présentant certaines pièces de Theodore Dumas, dernier artiste invité par First Laid et qui a donné une lecture de certains de ses écrits présentés dans la monographie. Le kiosque a ensuite été mis à disposition des festivaliers dans plusieurs lieux extérieurs du château lors du week-end.

First laid, an independent publishing house of artist’s monographs that offers its editions as an alternative creative space to the gallery, introduced its four editorials projects. The founders––Zoé Sylvestre, Thomas Collinet, and Jesse Wallace––created an exhibition booth that displayed some of the artworks of Theodore Dumas, the last artist invited by First Laid. He read a small part of his monograph during the presentation. The booth was put on display in several exterior areas of the château during the weekend.

Klima, créé par Loucia Carlier, Valentine Etiévant et Antonine Scali, est un jeune magazine qui propose une réflexion collective et artistique à partir d’un article de doctorant.e., révélant la pluridisciplinarité des milieux artistiques, activistes et universitaires sous la forme d’un bel objet littéraire. Venue pour présenter leur premier numéro, l’équipe de Klima a également invité l’artiste Monika E. Kazi, contributrice de la publication, à faire une lecture performée de son mémoire sur le racisme et la robotique.

Klima, a young literary magazine created by Loucia Carlier, Valentine Etiévant and Antonine Scali, was invited to present its first issue, a collective and artistic reflection based on an article by a doctoral student that explores the multidisciplinary nature of the art, activist, and academic worlds in the form of a beautiful literary object. Artist Monika E. Kazi, a contributor to the publication, was invited by the editors to do a reading of her thesis on racism and robotics.

Eric Namont — fondateur du distributeur KD presse — et féru collectionneur de revues et magazines de photographie, d’art, et de mode, a mis à disposition sa collection personnelle. Il a, pour sa présentation, axé la discussion sur le passage du papier au digital dans l’univers du magazine des années 90 à aujourd’hui, et sur l’évolution du monde de la revue indépendante à l’aide d’éditions rares, de magazines très récents et de publications uniques.

Eric Namont—founder of the distribution company KD presse and a keen collector of photography, art and fashion magazines and editions––put his personal collection on display. His presentation focused on the discussion on the transition from paper to digital in the magazine world from the 1990s to today, and the evolution of the world of independent reviews through rare editions, very recent magazines, and unique publications.
